The press finally gets it right

From an AP dispatch concerning potential vice presidential prospects:
"His top contenders are said to include Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. Less traditional choices mentioned include former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, an abortion-rights supporter, and Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Democratic vice presidential prick in 2000 who now is an independent."
Not sure that was a typo.

On other VP fronts, fake txt messages and e-mails have been appearing, spoofing the Obama campaign's effort to sent txt messages to supporters informing them of Obama's VP pick before an official announcement.

The spam epidemic got it's start when D.C. blogger Wonkette pointed out that it's simple to send phoney text messages to your friends through Verizon's website, complete with step-by-step instructions. Evidently, many did.

Supposed picks have included Michael Phelps, Hilary, Al Gore, Tim Kaine, and The Fonz. And of course, some Republican thought it would be funny to say Obama had picked Elliot Spitzer. (Oh those right wingers and their zany "sense of humor".)

All I can say is.... I was very concerned lest Obama actually pick consistently mentioned short-lister Evan Bayh. (a disaster, in my opinion). Apparently it's being reported that he's not the pick.

That leaves Joe Biden hanging out there as the likely pick, which I feel would be a very good choice indeed. But then again, it could end up being The Fonz after all. I'd rather hear "Ayyyyyyy." over and over than the decidedly creepy, "My frenzzzz."
