They're everywhere

Stories about White House hopeful Barack Obama on CBS News.com have been attracting so many racist comments that staffers were told they should no longer allow readers to post them, the online news group reported.
Mike Sims, director of news and operations for CBS News.com, explained the reason for the new policy in a story on the Web site's Public Eye section.

"We have our rules of engagement," Sims said Friday. "They prohibit personal attacks, especially racist attacks. Stories about Obama have been problematic, and we won't tolerate it."

Sims said the news group sometimes deletes questionable individual comments, but he said this wasn't working with Obama stories because of "the volume and the persistence" of the comments.

Read about it here.

(thanks to a loyal reader for the story)

P.S. Appologies for the lack of attention to the blog lately, but I've been busier than a one-legged man in an butt-kicking contest. Hoping for a break soon, but not holding my breath.

Capt. David Rozelle, commander of a U.S. Army calvary troop, lost his right leg in battle in 2003.

Fitted with a prosthetic leg, he was swimming, running and skiing before a year was out. Soon he was even competing in triathlons. Restored to command of a cavalry troop, Rozelle returned to Iraq last month, becoming the first battelfield soldier to undergo an amputation and return to the same battlefield.

Rozelle's triumph, Back in Action: An American Soldiers's Story of Courage, Faith and Fortitude, is available at better bookstores everywhere.

That you would launch an unprovoked assult on the amputee community and a hero like Cpt. Rozelle sickens me.

You have no shame sir. Take down this post Mr. Dope!

And your idiotic jokes of comments make me laugh.

Save your bullshit lies and distortions for your political opponents.

I think they take offense to the one legged comment. Apparently they have never used a figure of speech in their life. They do seem to freak out about anything, but I am guessing they would be the first to ban a store for not saying "Merry Christmas." I love hypocracy.

Oh I see.

I guess I forgot how far these asshats will stoop to try to make an attack. Guess it's a habit in their line of work.

your always implying that someone involved in politics makes every negative comment on your blog. if I say something negative does that make me a politician? I don't understand.

Do you? Are you?

Actually there is a distinct connection between the two as it pertains to this blog.

This Obama guy is bringing corporate money as fast as it can be taken out of the consumers fist. What kind of dirty political is he anyway.

He is the most corrupt person in the race.

Gotta say one thing... you're not afraid of being waaaaay out in left field with your opinions.

Don't think there's a lot of you out there with that peculiar take on Obama.
