Drinking Liberally comes to the Illinois Quads!!

Promoting democracy
one pint at a time

As reported a short while ago, illustrious contributor YoungDem has stepped forward and done the leg-work to set up a chapter of Drinking Liberally in the Illinois Quad Cities.

I think this is a fantastic idea, a great organization, and I sincerely hope readers will make it a point to show up and participate. (I intend to myself at some point.)

Drinking Liberally Moline/Quad Cities, IL will be having a organizational drink on Friday July 7, at 7:30 p.m. at Jack's Place 425 15th St. in Moline. (corner of 15th and 4th Ave.)

Help this effort get off the ground.
BE THERE!

Drinking Liberally is open to all ages, eye colors, and hat sizes, and of course, you don't have to be a drinker. (though it helps.) Come one, come all.

This has great potential to be a very constructive, fun, and interesting social activity. No pressure, you don't even have to talk politics. Just sit and talk over a pitcher or two. I think it would be a great way to both meet other like-minded people as well as share views and information, and most importantly, have a good time.

I imagine there will be a mailing list available at some point, which is a great way to stay informed. I'll pass that info along as it's available.

And it's being noticed. The founder of the Des Moines chapter was recently written up in the Register.

After a year, her chapter has 270 people on it's mailing list and regularly attracts 15 to 35 people to the weekly get-togethers.
