IL Pension diversion plan to cost $7 billion over 40 years

Illinois taxpayers can expect a bill of nearly $7 billion for the Democrats' decision to balance the state budget by diverting cash from public pension systems, a Rockford Register Star analysis shows.

For each of the 12.7 million residents in Illinois, that would amount to $539.58, which would be spread over 40 years as the state works to pay down its pension debt.

Maybe no one will notice??

Well the hell with governing responsably! The main thing is that Rod Blagoavitch gets elected president. He has 15 million and no other Democrat will have enough balls to run against him. So he will be re-elected. Just like Verschoore and Jacobs the money is there so that stops anybody from getting involved in a primary.
The Republicans will focus on the Govenors mansion[no one ever lives there] anf blow of the rest of the state races.
So once again in the State of Illinois mediocrity reigns!!!

In reality "Diehard," it's hard to beat when he or she gets the job done. Although your boss, Mike Boland, sits atop $195,000.00 in campaign cash, numerous candidates see Boland as "vunerable."

For instance, Dennis Ahern has all but announced his campaign against Boland. Veteran political consultant Porter McNeil is preparing to enter the primary frey. Former Lane Evan's staffer Mike Smiddy, says he is running regardless what Boland does or does not do. Phil Banaszack and Jerry Lack are talking freely about running against Boland. And don't forget darkhorse Tony McCoombie. As the sole lady in the field, this achieving Savanna girl may turn the primary on its collective head (YOU GO GIRL!). Yesterday, I heard that Mike Boland's former campaign manager, Robert "Bob" Jaurez, is planning an assualt against Boland. After the bloody primary battle ceases, look for Republican Troops and battle ready Steve Haring to go after Boland. So while money is important "Diehard," it is obviously only part of the equation!

Don't belive me Diehard, ask Al Hoefield, Jim Ryan, Oberwise, Gidwitz, Schmidt and/or Ross Perot!

Dennis Ahern? Is he supposed to be somebody important?
And i'm sure Tony Mcombie is the ultimate candidate. Did she flirt with you or something. the easiest way for an incumbent to win is to have a primary with people like Mike Smiddy and Toni Mcgumby or whatever her name is.
All you will do is weaken the Democratic incumbent.
No we all are supposed to hold on to our barf bags and take it when people like Verschoore and Jacobs get handed a seat in a legislature. But Mike Boland who has actually WORKED to get where he is, lets attack him! I dont understand you Headrusher?

Diehard- I get your wanting to support someone who actually worked for where the position they have attained, but why attack Ahern, and McCombie, or even Smiddy? They all are young, talented in their own way, and besides didnt you once post that you would actually want someone to run for an office around here? At least Ahern has shown that gumbtion. Until they all get on the record publically, lay off the good young dems we have around. Thank God we have some up and coming. At least they are paying their dues...

Ok None so you have a dictionary. Big deal.

Last time I checked Ahern never got anything handed to him ever. He has had to interview and compete for positions and has worked hard and I would never say he was ever given a free ride.

Now Mike Jacobs - show me something, anything he earned without his daddy giving it to him..... I dare ya. And I don't buy for one NY minute that he was ever a real player in union leadership or even a member unless it was for maybe one summer while he was a professional student.

Headgusher says Mike is a union big shot - he does not even know the union locals or their membership at all....

Yes. Sorry I mis-spelled that word. By the way None, you have blasted Lane Evans, Mike Jacobs, Steve Haring, and now slipped one in on Ahern. UMMM... you have something to gain from berating all of these? Anyway, I digress. Support the candidate of your choice, expouse their virtues, and put your best positive spin on them. Don't unknowingly berate someone, or accuse someone of something, just because you support the other guy. Point out your guys positives. Advocate for your guy, don't tear others down. I beleive (sp) you may be a Demo. so support whomever, be it Lack, McNeil, or whoever you support. By tell us about their positives. I bit schizophrenic lately, but didn't you say ahern was your choice in earlier posts? what gives..?

LatinV, you have a point. None seems confused and maybe on purpose trying to spin it one way then another?

Yes, I agree be more positive. But call into question some of the negative folks who write in gushing (Headusher) about the same dam stuff daily. Headusher needs a vacation and a life.
