Lied to citizenry figuring it out, running from Bush on war

The people are awakening to the realization that they were stampeded into a needless and unjustified war which has taken the lives of over 1700 servicemen and women and cost this country hundreds of billions of crucially needed dollars.

Meanwhile, Cheney tells us that we're on the verge of victory.

It's criminal.

(CNN) -- Nearly six in 10 Americans oppose the war in Iraq and a growing number of them are dissatisfied with the war on terrorism, according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released Monday.

Only 39 percent of those polled said they favored the war in Iraq -- down from 47 percent in March -- and 59 percent were opposed.

The survey of 1,006 adults, conducted by telephone Thursday through Sunday, had an error margin of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

But the war isn't all bad news. It saved Cheney's company's ass.

Dope, you put it well in black and white.

Bottom line - it's all about money.

Ain't that the truth. And it's the giant elephant in the room that, bizarrely, everyone is afraid to mention.
Even most Dems are silent on the literal ransacking of the treasury by contractors. There are almost more contractors in Iraq than soldiers!

Yes Dopester, you are correct. Hey, I have an idea.

Since Bush believes in the privatization of everything, let's totally privatize the Army and all the Military. We could contract out for the troops like Rent-a-Cop or something and then people would truly be walking into it for a check and not for some brainwashed patriotic ideal.

Cheney could make more money, and then the Government could just pay an hourly rate to someone to manage all the little problems like Post Tramatic Stress Syndrome and the pesky little disability claims that the VA denies -- well give that to contractors too and they could just stamp deny on everything like they do for private insurance claims all the time...

The possibilities are endless.

MS, believe me, we're closer to that scenario than anyone knows, and if this crowd is allowed to remain in control, you may just live to see your mock proposal come true.

The greed of these guys and their supporters knows no end. They saw the enormous pentagon budget and wondered why they couldn't get a big hunk of that for themselves too, so Rumsfeld and Bush obliged and now we pay private companies to feed, clothe, do laundry, provide transportation, security, even torture prisoners.
Seems the only thing the armed services do anymore is kill and be killed. The rest goes into corporate pockets.
