Rep. John Fritchy shows how it's done

Illinois 11th District Rep. John Fritchy not only has a very appealling and informative web site, but he even has his own blog.

How great to read insight and personal commentary from a politician on the job. And he allows and encourages comments and is easily accessible, even offering constituents and others the ability to join an e-mail list to receive updates in their inbox.

Fritchy obviously "gets it" and is light-years ahead of others. Not only that, but both his website and blog are extremely well done and well designed, and his blog is informative and interesting, which by definition means that it isn't consumed with over-exagerated self-promoting hog wash. It's friendly, conversational, and welcoming.

Fritchy's skillful use of the net is a hopeful sign that at least one politician both embraces and knows the value of web communications and knows how to utilize it in the best way. Fritchy is to be commended for his foresight and effective use of the web.
