Anything that makes Dear Leader look bad is forbidden

NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. agency leading Hurricane Katrina rescue efforts said Tuesday that it does not want the news media to photograph the dead as they are recovered.

"We have requested that no photographs of the deceased be made by the media," the spokeswoman said in an e-mail.

Someone should give that spokesperson a refresher course in the First Amendment.

Amen Diehard. A very principled stand by Beydler.

While it shouldn't require a lot of courage to point out that the Chimperor has no clothes, the fact remains that a climate has been created when to do so opens one up to terrible abuse.

But I feel that Beydler, like many others, simply couldn't ignore the fact that Bush is a bungling failure, and simply felt compelled by honesty and integrity to state the fact.

Maybe now that Beydler has broken the taboo, other's will feel more willing to tell the truth as they see it.

Hell, the newspaper which bills itself as the most conservative paper in America, the Manchester Union, published an editorial which beat Bush around like a pinata.

The house of cards Bush and others have created is falling, and not a minute too soon.
