Why?

Why is it that every single manufactured tabloid crime story pumped up and aired incessantly on cable news involves attractive white women?

O.J.'s wife
Lacy Peterson,
The Runaway Bride,
JonBenet Ramsey, (who's father is considering running for congress... Republican, natch.)
The girl missing in Aruba,
Jessica Lynch, etc.

The only ugly white woman they've paid attention to is Michael Jackson.

What's up with this? Are there no minority victims of crimes? Are there no unattractive less than upper class women or girls who have disappeared or been victims of crime?
Are we only capable of getting all concerned about rich white women? Why?
