Sarah "Hokey Mom" Palin refuses to put hand over heart during anthem
Shocking! Hokey Mom (no typo, she is about as hokey as it gets) Sarah Palin spits on every person who ever died in service to our country by steadfastly refusing to place her hand over her heart during the National Anthem!
Every red-blooded patriot should be outraged! Why does Sarah Palin hate America so?? WHY???
Is her real allegiance to ..... RUSSIA?? After all, her state is real close.
The Dems will surely have an ad up about this shortly and send out an army of shills to humiliate themselves on-air while trying to argue (with a straight face) that it should be taken VERY seriously and they're VERY offended by it.
Well, we know the Dems would do that, IF they believed, like Republicans clearly do, that you and other Americans can be played for complete dumb-asses. Literally NOTHING is beneath them when it comes to phony smears. They'll do anything to desperately avoid having the campaign become about... horrors....actual issues affecting our children's futures and the day to day lives of ourselves and our families.
American public: Are you really trying to tell us that we should elect you to fix the damage that you played a major role in creating and perpetuating?
McCain campaign: Hey! Look over there! Sarah Palin is "the most remarkable success story in American politics!" (actual quote by Fred Thompson.) Anyone who brings up anything negative about her record or views is obviously sexist. Obama's sexist.
American public:But don't you brag about dating strippers? Didn't you start screwing around on the mother of your kids on your return from Vietnam after finding out she'd been crippled in a car wreck? After she'd waited for years for you to return from Vietnam, paying her off with Cindy's money in exchange for a divorce? Didn't you file for a marriage licence for you and Cindy BEFORE you were divorced? Didn't you and Cindy get hitched only a month after you finally dumped your first wife? And didn't you crack a joke about a teen aged Chelsea Clinton looks? Haven't you repeatedly voted against equal pay for equal work for women? Didn't you do nothing but chuckle when a vile woman fan of yours asked you point blank, "How are we going to beat the bitch?" referring to Hilary Clinton?
McCain campaign:Hey! Um... Rev. Wright!!! Errrr... um. MUSLIM!!! He thinks he's smarter than YOU!!!!!!!
All I can say is, for the world's sake, I sure hope Obama is smarter than the audience McCain targets with such ludicrous swill. Hell, for those who actually swallow it, or even repeat it without shame, let's face it, a Ficus plant has more sense.
The rest of us? We're more than a bit offended and annoyed that the Republicans aren't taking this election seriously, and clearly think most Americans are utter fools.
Maybe they're right? They're certainly bet everything they have on the rock solid belief that we are, indeed, fools.

Great post. The manufactured outrage of the republicans is truly pathetic. And the slime in their ads just gets more and more nauseating. Just when you think that they can't go any lower, they somehow manage to manufacture some an even more outrageous distortion.
The republican campaign staff and its enthusiastic followers have made it their strategy to throw absolutely everything including the kitchen sink at Obama in hopes that something, anything, will stick enough to put a slight doubt or negative association in some voters' minds. They don't care how dishonest it is. They have no scruples, and have shown that they think "anything goes" as long as it hurts their opponent. They have contempt for the idea of democracy as it was intended by the founding fathers, and they have contempt for the voters.
They have to be held accountable for this garbage.

Look at the picture you idiot, only a couple of people have the hand over their heart - most of the men in uniform DO NOT. Apparently, the pledge had not started when this photo was taken.

You scream and defend Palin for not having her hand over her heart, yet I bet you squealed like a stuck pig when that photo came out showing Obama forgetting to put his hand on his heart during the pledge.
And beyond that, I'm by FAR no military expert, but even I can figure out that active military don't put their hands over their hearts during the anthem anyway, they salute instead.
In confirming this, I found that within the official military protocol, it specifically states that during the presentation of the flag and the National Anthem:
"Dependents and civilians should face in the direction where colors are being held and stand at attention (placing right hand over their heart is optional)."

So apparently the entire fake outrage over the Obama/hand over the heart thing was as false as nearly every stupid charge to come from the right and/or the McCain campaign.
