Beydler confirms the facts

John Beydler has done the reporting and called the print shop in question in the union/non-union campaign sign tempest.

He confirms that the conclusions reached here on the matter are fact.

He also deals with the dirty "push poll" type phone calls which are being made in Jacobs' behalf.

Perhaps this might quiet down those who still insist on trying to squirm their way back out from their indignant and outraged pronouncements that Rumler used non-union signs and was thereby anti-union himself.

And maybe, just maybe, it might convince someone in the Jacobs campaign that their little dirt monkeys who've infested comments here for so long might not be doing him a lot of good.

But if they haven't been able to figure that out by now, I really can't hold out much hope.

What's next from Jacobs?

Headline:

Big Sen. Mike Jacobs creates world peace, finds WMD's, cures cancer; opponent molests collies!

Go Mikey go. You'll make a terrific lobbyist. Well, you'll make a lobbyist anyway.

Is anyone really surprised here? This is almost lock, stock and barrel what the two incumbents did to their opponents in the State Rep. races two years ago. There must be a handbock making the rounds of the local incumbents, called "Smear Tactics for Dummies" The Boland camp wrongfully accused Ahern of using non union made signs, and it took the owner of the company to write a public rebuttal; and the Verschoore camp pushed polled Mike Darrow on the abortion issue and it worked for Verschoore, because Mike did not respond. At least Rumler learned a lesson and is responding. It is the same brand of politics you get when who our representation in Springfield gets dictated to us from afar. We are stuck for the time being with this type of character, and it is truely sad.

Perhaps Rumler's dog ate his homework, but that doesn't change the fact that Paul Rumler chose to ercect non-union signs purchased from an Iowa printer throught the 36th District. The question becomes, why did Rumler purchase signs from an Iowa rather than a union printer in the District he so desperatley wants to represent?

Can't wait to hear this excuse!

Union Printer.. first of all, you're a bald-faced liar and not a union printer, secondly, you're a total fool and likely one of Jacobs' band of half-wits.

Please click on the link to Beydler's piece on this matter, that is if you can figure out how to do that, and have someone read you this paragraph:

"The Dope ferreted out the facts, which were confirmed by Jeff Hartman, CEO of Precision Signz, the printing outfit. He said he's not only a union shop, but is the only one in town, and that he printed all of Rumler's signs. He said the bug was inadvertantly left off the first run, but tape-on bugs were sent out to be put on them."

Now come back here and continue to try to backtrack and cling to this smear attempt that blew up in your face. You can sift through the rubble and ashes all you want, but you're not going to find anything left.

Time to suck it up, realize you were shown to be a fool, and move on.

This was your third attempt to knock Rumler for using a printer that was across the river, even though Jacobs sent his work to a printer that isn't even located in the Quad Cities. Now attack him.

Or are you a hypocritical boob who thinks you're helping your buddy by attempting every stupid, ill-considered smear attempt you can dream up?

With mental giants like you for friends, Jacobs doesn't need enemies.

The only printer in Iowa that does union and non union jobs. Iowa is a right to work state that Rumler is in favor of. Iowa. For someone from the East coast Iowa just mayu seem like it is in the 36th district, This is comical and to see him try and answer this the night before the election will be good polotics.

For the record, union-printers do not print non-union signs. To suggest otherwise is a mistatement of fact.

Call Review Printing and ask them to print a few non-union signs, see what they say!

Rumler has been caught red-handed, no amount of spin is going to change the fact that Rumler erected non-union signs throughout Rock Island County.

Unite, you big loser.

There you go again. Lying your ass off without shame.

ALL of Rumlers signs were union printed signs. Why can't you comprehend this simple proven fact?

Why don't you give it up? I'd sure like to gamble against you. I could sit there with 8 aces in my hand and as long as you thought the game was square when you started, you'd never believe the game was rigged despite the evidence right in front of your lying eyes.

It's pathologic how you continue to try to wring some sort of smear out of this even when you've been proven dead wrong over and over again.

Are you trying to say that the CEO of the company is lying when he said his shop is union? I have a bridge I'd like to sell you too.

And no one asked anyone to print some non-union signs! You're pulling that out of your butt!

The CEO of the printing company himself explained that they MISTAKENLY printed one run without the union bug.

You could ask him yourself but John Beydler has saved you the trouble.

So give it up, lick your wounds, accept that you've been shown to be a jackass grasping at straws on this issue, and move on.

New policy dope, any post that has 3+ miss-spellings gets dumped. Although we'd never hear anything out of "Big" Sen. Jacobs.

By the way, I hope that Anon 22:06 is wasted, because that is the most incoherent drivel I've ever attempted to read.

Why would Rumlerschedule this forum for a night that Sen. Mike Jacobs was outof town. This shows bad judjement on Runmlers part.

Allright...I've been fairly neutral in who I plan to vote for in this election up to this point. While I don't necessarily favor Mike Jacobs, I see Paul Rumler as someone who might possibly lack the appropriate experience to be as effective as need be in office.

I visit this blog and others almost daily and sort through the BS mudslinging that appears to be coming from campaign insiders in search of real stories and real issues in an attempt to formulate some sort of stance in these two candidates. And up to this point, there's been little concrete evidence (discounting the obvious gravity of one's intuition, of course) to convince me that Rumler is a better candidate than Jacobs.

UNTIL NOW!!! This current issue with the push polling phone calls made by the Jacobs camp is underhanded and despicable politics and I am in frank disgust and disbelief that our State Senator would commit such an atrocity! Rumler most certainly has a legal case against Jacobs (if in fact he is responsible for the phone calls) for slander and defamation of character - a case which I fully believe he should persue. But the fact that Jacobs has such compromising ethical standards makes him a highly distrustable candidate in office. Where does it end??

CONGRATULATIONS MIKE JACOBS - you've lost another vote!!! And don't be fooled...the tide is quickly turning against Jacobs, in numbers larger than most can probably conceive.

And since it's surmised by previous posters that Jacobs visits these blogs, I'd like to deliver you a personal message - it's an insult to your constituents that after barely a year in office (an appointed position nonetheless) you would assume that your district has thorough knowledge of your stance on the issues. This is in fact one of the reasons that you have declined to debate, is it not. If you're in Springfield doing your job, that's a reasonable explanation, but since other posts have indicated that you've been sighted in the area, what's the deal?!?! YOU OWE IT TO YOUR CONSTITUENTS TO PUBLICIZE YOUR OPINION ON THE ISSUES!!! Assuming that you can breeze by on your father's coattails may wind up being your fatal mistake - voters are about fed up with your BS and your dad's coattails aren't that long to begin with!

Mike Jacobs told me a couple of things today. He is for traditional values. He is for keeping violent video games out of the hands of our children.

Dope, Could you please let me know where it is that Jacobs accused Rumler of using a non union printer. I am having trouble finding it.
Thanks!

You all seem to be missing the big point. The trend in politics is for third parties, not associated with specific candidates, to spend thousands of dollars on single-issues. Sounds to me like a third-party outside group is invading the 36th District without approval by any campaign (legally it can't).
That's where you all should be looking.

Anon 21:58.

I don't think anyone's said that Jacobs has stood in front of a microphone and accused his opponent of using non-union signs.

But there's been about 15 comments here from his closest supporters saying that and more, even in the face of clear evidence that it's totally false.

It's also been stated several times by Jacobs supporters that their is (or was) a actual attack ad planned to attack Rumler on this now provably false charge.

There is currently a further effort to try to salvage this line of attack against Rumler by disputing exactly what specific flavor of wording appeared on the union "bug".

This amounts to an almost desperate attempt to save face and avoid being shown to be attacking Rumler for a false charge, although it's understandable how the confusion started, due to some of Rumler's signs not having the bug due to the printer's mistake.

But now that the facts have emerged, for them to continue to press this issue is ridiculous.

Hope that helps.

Senator Mike Jacobs is inter-continental. Two weeks ago, he was in Las Vegas raising campaign funds. Next week he's going to be in Dallas raising more money.

Did anyone, besided me, notice that BIG Mike Jacobs raised some n $90,000 in the last 60 days. I think Mike Jacobs may be Governor of Illinois one day!

What's pathetic is that you think that's something to brag about, as if the average person trying to make ends meet which BIG Mike is pretending to represent is REALLY going to be in awe of how this guy runs around the country getting bought off by campaign donations.

Yeah... better put all this slime in the Jacobs fliers. People just think it's great. No wonder you're so proud to be a part of it.

Sickening.
