Illinois 2006 campaigns resource

The Illinois Channel, the state-wide version of C-Span, (which has yet to make it to the Quad City area) has a great web site. Along with streaming real time video of their programming, they have a lot of other helful and useful information.

Their page detailing all statewide races, includes pictures and links for the current office-holders and everyone who's challenging them next year is particularly useful and worth bookmarking. It also offers the ability to look up congressional, US Senate, state reps and legislators, and is tracking announced candidates for those races as well.

The Illinois channel is working hard to provide valuable resources for educating citizens of the state on politics, history, and other statewide issues. Let's hope they and Mediacom can soon come to some arrangement allowing them to be carried here on public access.
