This blog stinks

Posted on Captiol Fax Blog in response to my comments about the issue of anonymous bloggers...

Anyone who has read the inside dope knows why he want so [sic] remain anonymous. The blog stinks. His opinions make no sense. Other blogs have more relevent [sic] posts than his whiny daily rants.

There you have it.

I'll do my utmost to write things with a less offensive odor, somehow guess at what's relevant to this individual and henceforth cater to his interests at all times. I'll try to have an opinion which makes sense to him, to compete with all blogs on a scale of relevance, and to reduce whining incrementally, with a goal to provide 20% less whining by the end of the next quarter, and proceed with the project until whining is negligible.

From now on, it's only feel good stories about the dog who adopted a baby pig and treats it as if it was the piglet's mother.

Now it's to the fortress of solitude to ponder once again just why I bother doing this.

Aw hell, that probably counts as "whining". Damn it! Did I just whine about whining about someone saying I whine too much? My head hurts. I'm going to bed.

I think your right not to have an anonymous catagory on this blog.
If you do its like Speak-out in the Dispatch. Its easy for people to say this or that without any reprecusions.
I think this is a good saftey valve for free speech.
When we get tired of crappy local press ala Dispatch/WQAD we can come here and talk about substinative issues.
Its like the local bar without an import beer selection.
What does that writer to Capital Fax want you to be more like the local media? PU!
Maybe you should do DOPE ON YOUR SIDE! Or you could do South of Twenty, thats one of my favorites in the Dispatch like being under twenty gives you credibility! I'm under 20 so people should hang on my every word....WHO CARES?!
And do a whole section on the Young Rep..I mean Young Proffesionals Network. These spoiled brats who are in there 20s and have had everything given to them have there little drinking parties. Occasionaly one of them will remove the cobb from their ass to tell us how we need to run things. Because their so friggin smart!

Hee hee hee... There ya go Diehard...

There's still plenty to talk about, even if it isn't "relevent", as that anonymous commenter complained.

And those YPN yuppies are pretty special, aren't they? I mean, to read the Dispatch, you'd think they were our salvation.
But it's important to groom the next generation of overweight, pasty white uninspired frat guys and the women who are trying to get ahead by getting along by getting plugged in to this white guy network.

I know I'm being cynical, and lord knows I don't want to appear to be whining. But cyncical I am, and I somehow don't feel this crowd is going to be exactly thinking out of the box.

After all, what they're being taught to do is to be exactly like their patrons, the people who already run things. It's an insurance policy for the powers that be that nothing will change too much.

Yes Rick Baker has even been quoted in the Dishpatch as much as said they are a youger version of the Rotary.
Dave and Senoir take note ,if you don't belong to the Rotary your not considerd a real Republican. At least in Moline anyway.
Oh they'll take your vote at election time.
But don't expect to be getting a Christmas card from them or anything.
I dont know maybe you guys do go to their lunches. I think the format is you pay for the meeting and you but your own lunch. And everbody talks about how great it is to be a white male.
Ah yes the YPN's now I know why tigers eat their young!

Props to the late great Rodney Dangerfield.

I think you're a pretty good blog, so don't be too hard on yourself, ok Misses Dope?

Quite frankly, I could not agree more with the anonymous commenter from Capitol Fax. (Who I cannot help but notice was ANONYMOUS at the time that he/she was criticizing Dope's blog). I had at one time believed that Dope was very adept at ascertaining and printing relevant and insightful local political commentary. But frankly, he totally dropped the ball on the baby pig raised by a dog story. Hell, even the Dispatch Argus ran that story before it appeared here!

In all seriousness, I am grateful every day for this site. It is extremely well-maintained, the level of commentary and information is very high, and I have learned so much during the short time I have been accessing this site. I suspect that Anonymous is either jealous or trying to stir the pot. I suspect further that he is an idiot.

I just finished reading all of the commentary--and there is a LOT of it--on Capitol Fax, on the issue of anonymous bloggers.

I have never seriously sought to know the identity of Dope (though I have often enjoyed open speculation that he may be fitness guru Richard Simmons). I suspect that if I knew him personally, I would like him a great deal. But I do not feel that the disclosure of his identity is necessary to the purpose of the blog: a forum for intelligent and relevant political discourse.

We are able to independently assess Dope's opinions irrespective of his identity. Would knowing his name alter our opinions on political issues? Not one bit.

The bottom line is that Dope can reveal his identity or not reveal his identity, and it will ultimately not matter to me at all, insofar as my participation in this site is concerned. I will be grateful to him, either way, for providing this wonderful forum for our discussion. I tend to agree with the proposition that the only reason to so desperately clamor for the revelation of his identity would be to enable one to attack the messenger without addressing the message.

Dave inferred he's been in the military? IF that's true it sure explains a lot....

Dope, i like the blog and I think you should keep it going despite what the others say as they are jealous that you attract great thinkers like me who can match wits with the likes of Dave, Sen badbreath, and others.

Wait a minute the Dope must be a lesbian if she's a women.
The fawning over some women that was on the blog about a month ago.
Not that there's anything wrong with that!
