Build your own candidate!
I've been thinking (don't get too alarmed) and a little thought exercise occured to me. What if you could build your own candidate? You know, take part of this politician, part of another, etc. and wrap them up together to make the perfect candidate.
Just off the top of my head, for example, my candidate would have (in no particular order) the name recognition of Hillary Clinton, the mental quickness and incisive debating skills of Barney Frank, the devotion to providing for the less fortunate of Ted Kennedy, the fearlessness and outspokeness of Maxine Waters, the ability to connect to people and the political skills of Bill Clinton, the passion and strength of convinction of Dennis Kucinich, the dynamism of Howard Dean, the policy wonk knowledge of Bill Clinton and Al Gore, the plain speaking, un-phony style and foreign policy expertise of Joe Biden, the ability to fight on touchy issues with skill and smoothness of Dick Durbin, and the physical appeal of Barack Obama.
I limited myself to only Democrats, and only currently serving, living politicians, but of course, you need not do so.
(and HeadUsher, we already know who your ideal candidate is.)

Barack Obama and Bill Clinton with a little John McCain thrown in for combat experience. That's my ideal.
Need to have a good cop, like Paul Simon, and a bad cop, like Paul Wellstone.
