BRAC closure list to be given to Congress 24 hours in advance

Congressmen across the country are to get 24 hours advance notice of what military bases are to be cut by the BRAC process.

Word of the BRAC recommendations should be in their hands by between 9 and 10 A.M. tomorrow.

Cross your fingers.

Breaking news: Alert Dopesters have informed us that Governor Rod Blagojevich, Senate Minority Whip Richard Durbin and Senator Barack Obama will be holding a press conference at The Mark of the Quad Cities at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow and will presumably reveal the results of the BRAC recommendations at that time.

OH YEAH, State Sen. Mike Jacobs will be in attendence as well. Blago, Durbin, and Obama are likely attending to try to get some of that Jacobs magic to rub off on them. ;-)

There you have it. Thanks for that info. I'll add it to the post.

Dissenter, My head hurts.

I've always appreciated HeadUsher's tongue-in-cheekiness. And he's obviously got a sense of humor, which is much appreciated.

But the sarcasm in the comment above? Nice effort, but I'd give it a gentleman's C. ;-)

It's a lock Dissenter.

I also happened to overhear them mentioning it on the 10p.m. news here.

I just have to point out that HeadUsher is a very confused person.
He apparently thinks that all I do is try to stir up fights here to do with Mike Jacobs.

As anyone can plainly see, I don't come close to doing that. Every single post I've made has been directly related to a news story. I don't try to start "discussions" about Jacobs, I don't try to start anything.

But what's maddening about HeadUsher's trying to suggest I start things is that HE is the one who simply can't pass up any opportunity to praise Jacobs up one side and down the other.

It's those very comments that are so over-the-top and numerous that they began to annoy the hell out of me. I simply did what I could to tease him and try to get him to take it back a few notches.

I've certainly never "picked on" Jacobs or criticized him harshly for anything that I recall.

So to suggest that I'm somehow trying to stir things up or that I mention Jacobs only as a way to start fights is just deceptive and dishonest.

Is it that Jacobs or his supporters just don't like it when I post about a news item with Jacobs in it? That seems odd.

Because that's all I've done.

I reserve the right to give HeadUsher hell about his idolization of Jacobs, but please note that I have never started it. I've only expressed my distaste for such campaign screeds and my hopes that maybe HeadUsher had something else to offer than such lop-sided commentary.

GOP... I'm as clueless as you. I'm very frustrated when commenters mention things they feel I should mention about their guy, but then there is no further information. I've tried to find out what the heck this was all about, but am drawing a blank.

If people want to tout something a candidate is doing, then they should provide details, or at the least a source where more information can be found.

I've heard nothing of this supposed press conference.
