Hyman out, Mullen in as director of The Mark

40 year old Scott Mullen, the Illinois Quad-City Civic Center Authority's selection to replace Steve Hyman as executive director of The Mark of the Quad Cities, was intoduced to the public Friday. Mullen was most recently G.M. at Nassau Coliseum, an 18,000-seat arena in Long Island, N.Y.
Mullen has a background in Dubuque, where his father as an athletic director, and has also lived in Galena, IL before taking the position in New York.

Hyman had been executive director of the Mark since it's beginning, and has left the position to oversee construction of a new arena in Hoffman Estates, IL.

What? I thought that position was going to go to either Stan Leach or Bill Adams? I am surprised and shocked. GOP INC., which runs Moline, usually takes care of its own with these big jobs. Hmmm. Does the DOPE know what's going on here?

Apparently, the Billionaire Boys Club and Pryce Boeye, the head of the Civic Center Authority opted to go with someone who actually knows the business. Go figure.
