The last word on the Rev. Wright issue
Have a big problem with Obama's former pastor?
Watch this, then shut up.
Some flying monkey emissary from Bill "Falafel" O'Reilly tries to bully a priest and runs into someone that doesn't play that game.
~~~~~~~
And are you the type that actually swallows the gutter tripe about Obama being associated with some hippy radical (and the ridiculous suggestion that therefore he must be one himself)?
Someone in a perfect position to know the score issued this statement:
There are a lot of reasons that Americans are angry about Washington politics. And one more example is the way Senator Obama's opponents are playing guilt-by-association, tarring him because he happens to know Bill Ayers.
I also know Bill Ayers. He worked with me in shaping our now nationally-renowned school reform program. He is a nationally-recognized distinguished professor of education at the University of Illinois/Chicago and a valued member of the Chicago community.
I don't condone what he did 40 years ago but I remember that period well. It was a difficult time, but those days are long over. I believe we have too many challenges in Chicago and our country to keep re-fighting 40 year old battles.
Sounds like something a way out leftist radical might say?
Well, that depends on if you think a solid lunch bucket Democrat like Chicago Mayor Bill Daley fits that description.
Anyone still want to still defend this ridiculous "guilt by association" ploy?
Hat tip to a loyal reader for the links.
Sharp dude, I must say. But that won't stop the cons from insisting that Sen. Obama hangs with a racist. Just like it won't stop them from ignoring Sen. McCain's dubious associates and past behavior.
The truly sad thing is that it looks like the FOX reporter didn't comprehend a single thing the priest said. The reporter was like a broken record--"But he's a bigot who hates America! He's a bigot who hates America!" He didn't care how many years the priest has known Reverend Wright, the FOX guy thinks he REALLY KNOWS Wright from watching a three second sound byte. What a sad, sad fool.
This moron and some of his keepers at Fox seem, like your troll here, to be basing all of their hopes for November victory on a non-stop loop of a three second Wright clip. "Pastor Disaster! Pastor Disaster! Issues? What? The war? What? No no no! Pastor Disaster! And oh yeah, FLAG PINS!" And what a pathetic bunch of fools.
Nooncat,
I'm not too certain that the conservatives will pay a lot of attention to McCain's "dubious associates and past behavior".
I'm sure that's not what you meant to say, was it?
I doubt that Dems and progressives will keep mum about McCain's seriously questionable past either.
But I'm also certain that any such attacks based on shaky premises or ridiculously tortured "guilt by associations" won't be nearly as fierce or as loud as those eminating from the right wing.
They seem to positively revel in such gross distortions and attempts to smear opponents with trivia that they distort until it bears no relationship to truth or reason.
