More missed comments

Checking though back comments, I found 3 or 4 legitimate comments which had slipped through on posts over the last week or so. I've now posted them. I appologize for the oversight.

Question - if Obama were white, would he (1) be running and (2) be anything but a huge joke (for running with so little experience, so little performance)?

Don't get me wrong, I think that he is a serious contender.

Was Bush a joke? He had almost no experience. Governor of Texas is nothing but a symbolic post, as the Lieutenant Governor runs the state and the legislature only meets a few weeks out of the year.

The guy had never even been outside the U.S. except on benders in Mexico.

Did you vote for him? Was his utter lack of experience a concern?

Let's see...

Bush: Owned the Rangers (and traded Sammy Sosa), Governor

Clinton: Attorney General, Governor

Bush: Senator or Representative (I can't remember which), CIA Director, VP.

Reagan: Governor

Carter: Governor

Ford: Representative

Now... Obama: State Senator, US Senator

I know I did not account for years, but give me a break. This man has as much experience as 3 of our last 6 Presidents.

Speaer of the House Pelosi's airplane request...where is the coverage of this?

Democrats were going to change the way Washington works - and Pelosi requests a private jumbo jet - complete with bar/ bedroom, crew of -16- and a roundtrip cost of OVER $300,000 to San Fransisco.

Are you kidding me?

The story doesn't even merit any coverage as it's a red herring and a bunch of crap.

Even the White House supports Pelosi's ability to have an aircraft that can fly her non-stop to her district.

Since you're obviously dim enough to swallow this idiocy, allow me to explain that Peolosi didn't request a large plane simply because it was large.

There's something called the laws of physics at play here.

The fact is that there are no small planes that can make a flight across country non-stop.

The plane Hastert was given to fly him half the distance Pelosi must fly can only make it to California with favorable tail winds under ideal conditions.

The only plane that can make this flight routinely is the one in the request.

Someone talked about "whiny-ass" liberals in a comment earlier. I certainly hear more whining from the right than anything.

Basically, it's as though Pelosi needs a car that will go very fast. A Yugo won't cut it, so she gets a Porshe. The fact that the Porshe happens to have some more luxury features is irrelevant. The goal is speed, not luxury.

If Peolosi needs a plane that will actually get her where she's going, and it just so happens that it has some ammenities, so what?

Do you think Hasterts airplane was nothing but a tin tube?

Get over it.

Your question was not serious and I didn't dodge it.

You expect me to answer whether if Obama was white, he'd be running?

You think that is a serious question that anyone could possibly answer? Even thinking about it is stupid.

Behind the question is the suggestion that he's only running because he's black which is simply unserious and perposterous.

Many blacks don't think he's "black enough" and he has not and I expect will not try to make his race one of the central themes of his campaign.

It was a knuckle-headed question, and I gave you a reply, even though it probably didn't deserve one.

"More to reform ethics" - come on...they did little, if anything that matters (like McCain-Feingold) - rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic. If anything was done, it was done to get the masses who can't think for themselves to THINK that something was done.

Sex scandals?
One homosexual Congressman e-mails a page - and this is a sex scandal? Please, let's not think that these issues are (1) anything more that happens everyday in the real world, (2) can be explained, and (3) are anymore Republican than they are Democrat...

Geez, this thread started with a simple question - would Obama be a candidate at all if it were not for his color? His resume certainly is that of a lightweight...

Why can't anyone answer a simple question without always deflecting to something silly?
