So nice that we can celebrate 'Life' is it not. Glad that the proud parents 'chose' life.

God bless.

Great news. The Ahearns are doing a great job and will be looking for their Rep job after the Boland retirement. This is Bolands last chance. He has crapped out and Ahearn will get the benefits.

Three pretty disturbing and disappointing reactions to this.

Firstly, I find it incredibly sad that someone could actually find fault in passing along some happy news. To live life with such bitterness must be miserable.

Secondly, this is hardly a "choose life" issue. If people want to have a child, it's no miracle that they "choose life". I find that comment bizarre and utterly out of place.

And thirdly, it never ceases to disgust me that people here can't view ANYTHING whatsoever as simply human and with nothing to do with politics. The fact that someone reacted to this news with some remark about Ahern's political future is gross.

DOPE, you misinterpreted by view.
I congratulated you for helping serve as the Ahern's personal PR staff and I meant it sincerely. They are under a lot of stress right now. Having a little boost from you must help them. You have to learn to quit being so cynical young woman! You don't even know how take a compliment.

And you are right about the ridiculous folks who turn personal news into something political. Turns me off. Completely.

As the parent of an adopted child, I have to say that EVERY child is wanted-----if not by her/his birthmother, then by someone like me----and millions like me.

Adoption is "simply human". Abortion is not.

I have no idea who the "Aherns" are, but the birth of a baby is to be celebrated----by everyone.

Who knows, maybe one day theinsidedope will spark a romance between commentors that result in wedlock and perhaps a bright, shiny child will result!

Great news Dennis and Lisa. Congratulations!

Dope, a bith announcemnt, an obituary, a wedding announcement from the Ahern's reeks of politics.... come on. Look, Denny Ahern is still running to be the next state rep, his old man has been an elected official for over 40 yrs in RI County, the one kid just got the Obama job, and the one daughte is head of the BHC young dems, and dennys wife just got some award after being nominated by Mark Shwibert. Come on, everything the Aherns do is political.

So they conceived and had a child strictly for political purposes? Is that what you're saying?

I'm sorry, but your inability to put aside politics for one second to simply share someone's happiness at the birth of a healthy child is sickening.

You act like simply having a child is some sort of political stunt.

If your political ambitions or feelings are stronger than your decent human ability to share in someone's happiness, then it's time to have a serious reality check, in my opinion.

Dope, wake up. Everything Denny Ahern and his clan does is political. Politics runs through their blood. Why would he be sending you a birth announcement -- something normally very private -- except for some policial pr. The above anonymous 16:15 has it right on. All moves are political. That's OK. Get over it.

Listen, you can be that cynical and cranky if you wish, and it's possible that Ahern sent the announcement to keep in touch with people, but please!

You're not capable of imagining that someone that just had a child might want to simply let people know out of happiness and pride?

How is this perfectly legitimate announcement going to help him politically? Get real!

I suppose if someone bumped into Ahern at the grocery store and he said "Hello", that would be nothing but politics too.

I still find your attitude overly cynical and frankly, very unfortunate.

In this ever increasing technologically advanced world, people send out announcements everyday on happy occasions via the internet. I receive two or three of them per week at work, either forwarded to me or sent to me diretly along with many others via email sometimes with picturs attached. I never look at peoples motives, other then they are happy, proud parents. I am sure the Ahern's did the same and sent it out in the same fashion as a milion other people do everyday. You guys are way too cynical.
Congrats Dennis and Lisa. Congrats.
