Cheney tires of animals, bags "ultimate prey"

Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and wounded a campaign contributor during a weekend quail hunt on a friend's South Texas ranch, local authorities and the vice president's office said Sunday.

The wounded man, 78-year-old Harry Whittington, was in intensive care at a Corpus Christi hospital after being hit by several pellets of birdshot Saturday afternoon, hospital spokesman Peter Banko told CNN.

"He's doing well and in stable condition today," Banko said.

Whittington, an Austin attorney who gave $1,000 to President Bush's 2000 campaign and $2,000 to his 2004 re-election bid, was among a handful of people accompanying the vice president when the accident occurred Saturday afternoon.
Like most of his "hunting", and his politics, Cheney doesn't like things on the level. He normally goes to game farms where the animals are released and driven in front of him so he can blast away. Rather than stalk and kill a wylie young "homo erectus", Cheney chose to bag one which was not too fast and ready to be culled anyway.

Cheney was heard to be very disappointed at not being able to hang Wittington's head on the wall of his den.

In the spirit of Bill Maher, I'd like to add a new rule:

If you're too infirm to be able to stand at a podium for an hour and debate someone then you should not be allowed to fire a weapon - a shotgun no less - where it has any chance of hitting someone else. You know, those things can kick back a bit.

I am glad it appears the vic is doing okay. We need to do something about this wasp on wasp crime.

You know Cheny needs to stop playing with guns. He could get hurt or worse hurt someone else.......

Was this part of the war on Terr?

The best part of this story is that they were hunting "Quail" at the time of the accident.

If that's the case, then YOUR rule should apply to EVERYONE. We'll see what happens after the primary and another local contest.

huh? Are you making a halfassed crack at Lane Evans? Last I checked Lane wasn't firing a shotgun where he could possibly hit/hurt someone. I'm sure Lane has better things to do with his time, like working.

I didn't say there is anything wrong with being so infirm you can't debate someone standing up. One of our greatest presidents couldn't do that. I said if you have problems like that you should not be out shooting things with a shotgun.

Nice selective quoting and strawman argument. Go back into your hole, troll.
