LaHood takes himself out of Governor's race

As first reported at Capitol Fax, Ray LaHood, considered a prime Republican contender for Illinois Governor, has announced that he intends to seek re-election to congress.

Boom! One shift and it's a whole new ballgame. Now that's what makes this sordid business of politics interesting.

The LaHood announcement may be the butterfly batting it's wings that causes a hurricane, so to speak, in the 71st district.

I agree with Diehard - since Jacobs is going to skate into office free -- he does not need any money at all-- he can give it to Boland and help him go up a rung.

After all they are buddies now and have kissed and made up and all. Let's see a true showing that they are sincere. Mike has plenty of money - he can afford to help his new friend Mike Boland now.
