Jason "Yellow Elephant" Mattera

Jason Mattera is the spokeman of the "Young America's Foundation", which is a lavishly funded effort from right wing millionaires to indocterinate and develop the next generation of ultra-conservative leaders. YAF is nationwide and spends tens of millions of dollars on recruiting and organizing young conservatives and sponsoring seminars, etc.

Jason appeared on Chris Matthews show recently. After saying he strongly supported the invasion of Iraq and what we're doing there, Matthews asked him point blank if he'd sign up to serve in the military. Mattera's answer shows he'll fit in perfectly as a right wing bullshit artist. Go here, or if that doesn't work for you, go to the post on "Crooks & Liars" here and click the link to view the video clip. What do you think of young Jason's answer?

(story linked from Roger Ailes which links to Jesus' General who links to Crooks & Liars. (an excellent site with many video clips and stories)

Read this link from Crooks & Liars for a little more background on the ultra-Christian Poppin' Fresh doughboy seen on the right in the picture below in the previous post.

The direct link to the video clip works for me, but sometimes it simply links to Crooks & Liars home page.

I've added another link that takes you to the post on Crooks & Liars, and from there, you can click on the link to the video. It's worth the trouble, trust me.

Sorry about the technical difficulties.

Got it now - the kid is a two faced hypocrite about the subject. He's fighting the "war" on information? Some BS like that? He fights a different war here????

Well, I think maybe he should go see Cindy Sheehan and see what she is doing. She has a lot more balls than he does!

The kid thinks young people are more conservative than they used to be? Well, the kids are still caring and liberal in the majority of cases.

What has changed is that the Media fails to report what is going on when college kids protest or do anything - they ignore it in favor of corporate interests!

They are real afraid of Cindy Sheehan as well- those corporations want to keep a good thing like this war going to keep the flow of dough from the public coffers. That's why they won't cover the incident in Texas.

If people could see what is going on, the pressure would put a stop to the war. Instead we continue to let our young people get killed in Iraq. But not the young Rub featured on this blog today!! he's fighting a paper war or some such nonsense.....

I agree Hi8r - you make good points and yes there are way more young people that still believe in idealism and helping out your fellow man.

Dope, what the heck is the meaning behind the slogan on this guy's logo - "sign up or shut up"??

I guess I missed the yellow elephant explanation. Is that the paper war he's talkin about?

Operation Yellow Elephant, for those who can't figure it out, is a group dedicated to shining the light on all those members of the Fighting 101st Keyboard Brigade, namely all the gung-ho right wingers who are eligible for service but who wouldn't carry a gun for love or money.

The "Sign up or Shut up" slogan means they should sign up for the service or shut up and stop cheer-leading for the war.
