One reason I'm a democrat

With all the Republican theatre of the absurd lately over their "Just say no" campaign in trying to stymie and delay any attempt at crucial efforts to stop the nation's economic slide into the dumper, I've frankly been overwhelmed with thoughts on the matter.

But with utterly idiotic and irresponsible crap emitting from the right on a daily basis, and anger towards them growing exponentially as they practice exactly the sort of phony rigidly partisan crap that they so liked to deride the Democrats for, and engage in their favorite past-time, projecting their own sins onto others, I find myself unable to properly crystallize my feelings on the subject.

Suffice it to say that everyone with a brain knows that the country needs massive and unprecedented infusions of cash money to halt the hemorrhaging induced by the wild money party thrown courtesy of Bush & Co. And everyone with a brain knows that the Republican beefs are nothing but bullshit. Carping about funding for desperately needed and long overlooked programs such as education and funds to cities and states to stem massive lay-offs of public safety personnel, and standing for hours cherry picking desperately a minuscule fraction of the spending and holding it up as if the entire package is nothing but foolishness.

And even when they wave these items around like a bloody flag, they look like assholes, decrying aid to education, aid to students, aid to virtually anything or anybody but their fat-cat cronies and masters in the banking industry.

The newly elected moron heading the RNC argues that all the measure creates is work, not jobs. When pressed on this bit of lunacy, he clarified. Only private business can create jobs, government only creates work.

Thus in one neat move, he classified the cops on the beat, the postal workers, the fireman, the building inspector, the nursing home inspector, and virtually every member of the military as not having jobs.

He further illuminated his cretinous ramblings by explaining that government "work" has an end point, while apparently private sector jobs go on forever.

Perhaps he could explain that to the hundreds of thousands of private sector workers who are seeing their jobs vanish, with ever more to come the longer these boobs obstruct meaningful action.

So anyway, here's but one reason I'm a Democrat.

We're clearly better looking.

One reason I became a Democrat: Nixon.

Seven reasons I remain a Democrat: Ford, Carter, Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Clinton, George W. Bush, Obama.

Wonder what he thinks the "end point" is for the gutsy and energetic agents and officers who patrol our borders.

Righties scream for better Border Security, then trivialize the folks who provide it.

I hadn't seen that Man of Steele quote. Thanks.

UMR... it was something to behold...
Olberman did a deft skewering of it on Countdown.

It was from Steele's appearance on MTP... transcript at link below if you care to hunt for the nugget.

You are a PERVERT Dope. Maybe you could find a real life woman rather than girls in tight shirts.

That IS a real life woman. Sheesh!

Judging from the photo, how could anyone say TID's a perv? If anything, it shows a rather healthy and natural interest. As Aristotle observed, man is a political animal.

I wish I still looked that good. But 47 years and 6 boys later, even at 118 ponds, the time lines are obvious.

Obama has been in office barely a month and the news media act as though he should have healed the world by now.

I just think that the Republicans worked so long and hard to get our country in the shape it is now in and they hate to see their work go to waste.

Golly gosh darn and you betcha Joe The Plumber (do you think that is his real name?) and Sara Palen could be in office right now....maybe 2012? You betcha!

This is a real life woman to you you sick bastard. Maybe you could find a real woman that could actually choose you to be hers. This would be better than your virtual girlfriend the Obama supporter.

nooncat said it already, and said it perfectly!

Actually, I think in my heart, I was a Democrat way back in grade school, when a teacher assigned as homework, watching the Kennedy-Nixon debates.

That is when and where my interest in politics began--as a child, thanks to a teacher in the public school system.

Bishop's Wife... as if those alone aren't GREAT reasons to be a Dem. They kinda make rational people crazy, don't they?

Wow.

I'M a "sick bastard" and you, in your infinite ignorance and mindless jealousy, somehow think I "need to find a real woman"?

Aside from the sick quality of it, I find your frustrated mutterings quite humorous.

If you only knew. HA!

That's real classy of you to spew. Bet you're quite the dish. (A dog dish maybe.)

I'm not egotistical, but you kinda forced my hand. Not that it's yours or anyone's business, but attracting "real women" has NEVER been one of my problems. Trust me.

If you had a clue or knew anything whatsoever about me, you'd know how idiotic your ravings are.

When you believe things that you don't understand, it makes you an idiot.

When you lash out in impotent and ignorant rage, you prove you're an asshole with some issues yourself.

Seek help.

I'm doing just fine. Thanks.

you made the comment that the economy needs a "huge inusion of cash."

who's cash?

(answer - our kids cash)

where is it going?

less than 5% of the $800,000,000,000 (that is 800-BILLION) will be spent in 2009 -

How does one suggest that spending in 2010, 2011, 2012 AND BEYOND will help us in 2009?

(answer - it won't - it CAN'T!)

So...you are proud to be a Dem when the Dem's support taking our kids money to pay for increased spending (more pork) and lying about (1) where and when they are going to spend it and (2) lying about it helping the economy today.

Sounds like the same Democratic stupidity that gave us Lane Evans and Phil Hare...

Anon 9:37..

So funny to see you all twisted up in knots about the stim.

Of course, you'd do what? Oh yeah, nothing at all other than continue tax cuts for the wealthy.

Yep. You're right. That's ALWAYS worked. Fixed our economy up just peachy.

I don't care WHEN some of this money is spent, the fact that it's going to be spent will most definitely have the stimulative effect it's designed to have, with the added benefit of putting people to work.

Are you so dense as to think that this current Bush economic sinkhole is only going to last a year? You're not even that stupid.

Yet you yowl about any spending that's not directly spent instantly.

Go talk to the guys who've enjoyed the policies established by the party you support and ask them if they got their billions right away. You bet they did.

That should please you, right?

I mean, your arguments and the others from the right are patently ridiculous and people aren't going to be played for fools by you any longer.

They know that this will work. And further, how can you yelp about a few wasted or ineffective billions when you've been cheerleading the single biggest squandering and theft of public money in history, namely the Iraq invasion???

You didn't squawk when Wall St. got no strings, no accountibility billions. What gives?

Just frosts your ample ass to think of any of this government money going to average workers or (horrors) union workers???

Get over it.

Howdy Mr.Dope,

To quote you:

"practice exactly the sort of phony rigidly partisan crap that they so liked to deride the Democrats for, and engage in their favorite past-time, projecting their own sins onto others, I find myself unable to properly crystallize my feelings..."

It IS a "bizarro world" isn't it? The old and irrelevant buzz words pop out of pundits and pols alike, with ferocious disdain and rapidity! It's hard to believe after the last elections, last November, a trouncing and 2 years ago "a thumpin'" that some people would get a clue!
Then think of Paulson sweating, slurping down water during a press conference and basically looking like an insane skunk in the head-lights. He knew there was/is a BIG problem. The mighty thieves have scattered and madoff- ahem- made off with their spoils. (note to anon, 9:37: These are the guys we go after to get our grand kids' money back, eh?)
Now as Obama and Co. tries to sort things out to get the huge behemoth of an economy going, he gets the lap dogs chewing on his ankles.

When you live in your mother's basement and contribute little more than this blog then I suppose that you would want all of the free money that us working stiff's can give you.

You're so right! Only one thing wrong... I just like taking YOUR money. No one else's. I have it set up so your taxes go directly to ME.
Hell, I might even afford to move upstairs!

What a blithering idiot you truly are.
