What? An evengelist caught being greedy and unethical? No!

Man, what will it take before people realize what frauds these panhandlers for God are?

Now even son of Oral "90 ft. Jesus" Roberts has got some 'splainin' to do.

Richard Roberts is accused of illegal involvement in a local political campaign and lavish spending at donors' expense, including numerous home remodeling projects, use of the university jet for his daughter's senior trip to the Bahamas, and a red Mercedes convertible and a Lexus SUV for his wife, Lindsay.

She is accused of dropping tens of thousands of dollars on clothes, awarding nonacademic scholarships to friends of her children and sending scores of text messages on university-issued cell phones to people described in the lawsuit as "underage males."
Gee, I wonder which party he was helping illegally? Could it be the party which probably doesn't see a problem with any of the things they're accused of doing?

At the very least you should wait until the trial is complete before you boldly sentence another to death. Those who live in glass house should not throw stones!

Thanks for your thoroughly stupid response.

First of all, I don't recall "sentencing" anyone to "death", let alone anything else.

For that matter, I never asserted they were guilty.

What kind of an idiot are you anyway?

As to your equally stupid "glass houses" comment, am I accused of bilking gullible people out of millions of dollars (tax free) in the name of God, which I then use to live a lavish lifestyle, and stand accused of illegally using such funds to illegally help out political candidates?

You win the idiot of the day award.

Dope,

You talk often, or name-call often, of narrow-minded hate-mongers - on the right.

When you put forth a post like this, does not this put you in the same catagory?

You never seem to write about the THOUSANDS, the tens-of-thousands of Evangelical Christians that went to aid the Hurricane Katrina victims,

The millions of dollars that evangelical Christians donate to help the needy, the single mothers, etc.

You don't seem to ever write about the Christian men and women who put on a basketball camp in Rock Island to kids that otherwise could not afford to go to a basketball camp - and it is free of charge, underwriten by Christians that want to pour back into their community,

You don't seem to write about Christian Friendliness, who live off the donations of Christian men and women and who provide a safe place for underpriveldged kids in the QC-area to go.

Dope, seems like you have become exactly what you seem to dislike about others...

Will you print this, or censor it? I certainly hope that you have the integrity to post it - hopefully with an apology, not some silly name-calling tirade.

Thank you -

James,

You told me you were leaving the area and were gone. What happened?

You write: "You talk often, or name-call often, of narrow-minded hate-mongers - on the right.

When you put forth a post like this, does not this put you in the same catagory?"

No. Not in the least.

I write about some sleaze-bag evangelical crook and that makes me "hateful"? Please explain.

(And I spared you the case of the good reverend who was recendly found dead wearing TWO wetsuits, a rubber mask, gloves, hogtied, with a condom covered plastic phallus in ... well... put it this way, it wasn't murder.

Your argument is as silly as the tired and goofy argument (since abandoned, thankfully) used by the right when they whined that the press just wasn't reporting the "good news" from Iraq, as if they were somehow lying by reporting actual facts and events.
(And we're still treated like children, unable to be shown any sort of casualties or even flag draped caskets returning home.)

I also am surprised you actually think I should have been reporting on those things you mention.

But of course, you don't. You're just trying to make a point.. I think.

But there's a simple answer to why I don't report on those things.

I don't know about them. Who does? Besides you of course.

And it's not news when a mail delivery person delivers a letter.

Neither is it particularly news when a Christian organization does what Christians are supposed to do, namely, help those less fortunate, etc.

You also adopt the warped view that by exposeing the rank hypocrites, con men, blow-hards, kooks, and un-Christian Christians among the evangelical movement, that I'm somehow attacking Christianity itself.

Don't even try to make that leap. I'm not.

I think Christian philosophy, without it being warped and mis-used to within an inch of it's life and until it's literally unrecognizable as anything Christian, is a very positive thing, even vital to our society.

But these power hungry thugs like Dobson, the late not great Falwell, Robertson, and their entire weird little clique who hold up religion as a way to promote far-right intolerance and bigotry, while trying to subvert the constitution in the process, are nothing but a blight on our country and society.

They don't represent even a tiny fraction of self-identified Christians, yet they claim to represent Jesus himself, who supposedly loves Republicans with all his heart.

The whole thing is a horrible blight, and the sooner they crawl back to where they came from, preying on the vulnerable and desperate and fleecing the gullible, the better.

Dope, you sincerely have issues. I hope that you start taking your meds...

Gee, why so "hateful" Jimmy?

Got no argument so you resort to schoolyard taunts (and a lame one at that) that you both try to chastise me for and pretend to be above?

What a shock. A right winger talking out of both sides of their mouth at once.
