Bob DeJaegher 1924-2007

Bob DeJaegher was about what used to make politics matter. He firmly believed that governement was there to comfort the afflicted, not pay them lip service while doing the bidding of corporate or wealthy donors with the only goal of keeping yourself in power and cashing in from these same donors afterwards.

Though it's a bit belated, here's a spot to express your thoughts on the man.

A Guestbook hosted by the QC Times contains many people's rememberances. You may wish to add your own.

Hey Dope, how about if you quit paying 'lip service' to helping the afflicted as well. Why don't you do something proactive...

You liberal hypocrit. Bitch and moan with cute rhetoric, yell and scream for SOMEONE ELSE'S TAXES TO BE RAISED and do nothing.

You are a bright man (supposedly), why don't you figure out a way to proactively use your blog to help the disenfranchised of the QC?

Thanks for contributing exactly nothing to this thread.

First you defile a post about the life of a man who actually helped people through elected office.

Then you bitch and moan and spout dumb conservative platitudes, which are so twisted and false they're laughable.

And even more twisted is the fact that you think you're the only one who pays taxes. That's interesting.

And more disgusting is that you apparently don't have ANY problem when literally hundreds of BILLIONS of your precious tax dollars are squandered in Iraq, or when cronie contractors are actually hauling off those tax dollars on pallets stacked with cash.

But boy do you bitch at the thought that they may go towards helping other Americans... with the unspoken problem you have being that it might go to people with darker skin than you.

Then you think I should "proactively" use this blog to help the disenfranchised. That's helpful.

Well, I'm all ears. Let's hear your ideas for what I should do. Since you loudly belly-ached about it, I'm sure you have a lot of them and they're all practical too.

You are a sick pathetic fool. To turn my post into a racial issue is typical liberal crap.

You bring up race in a post that does not say one thing about race - so whois racist?

You make me sick!

That's good news. Don't choke.

I guess you just resent spending any money helping anyone other than yourself and those already very well off, it doesn't matter what their ethnicity. Congratulations for being an equal opportunity scrooge.

But you still have NO problem whatsoever with sending your tax money to kill them.

Seems rather daffy to me.

Have a few drinks and rant and rave about those damn libs who think people matter no matter what their race for making it soooo hard on you angry white males.

Dope,

Thanks for contributing nothing to our blog. Your comments are to often racist, sexist and down-right dim witted!

Get a job loser!!!!

It's brilliant comments like that that confirm everything I've said.

What is your problem?

I do a post on the late Bob Dejaegher and you loose your mind and start spouting hate?

You're a mess.

has anyone else noticed that there was a bridge opening yesterday? Where is Dope at?

Well, at least that comment was marginally related to Bob Dejaegher, though of course you were more interested in slamming me of course.

OK, ya got me. Here's my report.

A bridge over the Rock River opened last week.

Feel free to discuss this.

I'm sure it will provide much scintillating discussion.

Bob Dejaegher was a fine man. I recall when the Republicans tried to trash Bob in the 90's.

These less Government Repug's who give tax breaks and subsidies to their friends. Tried every trick in the book against Bob.

Bob, treated everyone the same. He was Pro-Life. I was pro-Choice.

He helped the poor in his township, everyone in Springfield thought well of him.
