TID readers want Obama to run

The recent Inside Dope Poll asked the compound question, "Will Sen. Barack Obama run for president in 2008, and should he?"

As to whether Obama actually WILL run in 2008, 63% of voters feel that he will, 38% think he won't.

As to whether Obama SHOULD run in '08, 66% felt he should run in 2008, 35% feel that he shouldn't for one reason or another.

SHOULD run edged out WILL run 66 to 63

A total of 32 votes were cast and the results are:

  • Obama will run and should run in 2008 - 15 votes or 47%

  • Obama will run, but shouldn't in 2008 - 5 votes or 16%

  • Obama will not, but should run in 2008 - 6 votes or 19%

  • Obama won't, and shouldn't, run in 2008 - 6 votes or 19%

And for the person who always writes in to tell me that these polls aren't a 100% accurate scientific poll that reflects public opinion accurately, save your breath. Anyone with a few sparking brain cells can figure that out themselves.

You know Im starting to think maybe we don't really need a President. How much are we paying the cheif executive now? $500,000 a year? We haven't had one for 6 years. Maybe we should do the oppisite of what the Fortune 500 companies do and start saving money at the top.
Hell I'll even work with you right wingers out there we can give some of the money we save to the military.
Or we could hire more people to do the unglamouras stuff the government use to do like take care of the envoirment, Look after mentally ill people, Fund more mass transit.
That's it elemenate the Executive branch and Presidential elections it's just an ego trip.
Obama can still go on Ophra once in a while if he needs that ego boost!

I believe that it is a foregone conclusion that Obama will run. The question that remains is whether someone with little substance in his political career can win.

Whether you are a fan or not, a reasonable and objective person must agree that little the man has done would, even in the loosest manner, would qualify him to be the leader of the US (Carter, Reagan, Clinton and Bush II were at least Govenors).

In my opinion, far too little is known of who he really is and whether or not he could ever handle the job.

Yes, he is smooth and polished, but other than that, does he have a qualification?

He will run - and he may very likely win, showing that politics anymore is nothing more than PR and managing sound-bites.

Did George Bush? The Govenorship of Texas is largley a keep the seat warm job. Like all the others low IQ Man has held.
Abe Lincoln was a pretty good lawyer who lost a Hella-lot of elections before he managed to finegle the nomination away from Seward.
Obama could win or Obama could loose but the only way to be sure is to jump in there and run!
