Good Luck to Mr. Benson, and Mr. Johnston, to Mr. Boland, Mr. Verschoore, Congressman Evans, Mr. Jacobs and Mr. Rumler. Best of luck to all (and to those who I forgot to mention, you too). Securing enough petitions to get on the ballot is never easy. Congratulations. Also, best of luck to Mr. Ahern and Mr. Darrow, you ran good races two years ago, and you are demonstrating good judgement in honoring the wishes of our parties leaders. You certainly both have bright futures as well. For now, best of luck to the three fine Judge candidates we have running, Ms. Wright, Mr. O'Neal and Mr. Peterson. We do have a bright future here in Western Illinois as Democrats. Best of luck all. Best of luck to Mr. Grchan and Mr. Huff also. Peace, and Merry Christmas to all.

...and God bless us, every one.
Postive Pete - you forgot one of the big stars of 2005 -- Pat O'Brien. He may have lost a squeaker of a race (only 90 votes shy) against a Republican in Moline -- but definately has a bright political future and is young and smart!! I'd keep my eye on him too....
You know Positive Pete, for someone as cynical as I am, I normally break out in hives when I hear such sweetness and light.
I try to bear in mind that every silver lining has a black cloud around somewhere, and the darkest hour is always just before it's pitch black.
But you know, you're right.
We certainly are in pretty good shape with the new blood in the area. Thanks for pointing it out.
Feel free to be the voice of positivity around here. I often lose track of it in the face of so much sheer incompetence, loopy self-promotion, banality, legalized corruption, etc. that infests politics.
Thanks for reminding us that all is not lost.... yet. ha!
