Dope Polls mirror national sentiment on Bush

It seems that readers of The Inside Dope are ahead of the national curve. But of course, that's only expected, as readers here are well-informed, responsible, intelligent, patriotic, thoughtful, compassionate, objective, reality-based, charming, witty, and well-dressed.

When asked, "Is there an extra-painful double tortuous level of Hell reserved for those responsible for the thousands of deaths incurred directly as a result of the lies and ineptitude of the Bush administration?", an overwhelming majority of readers expressed their belief that there was indeed, an extra nasty place in Hell awaiting those whose lack of concern and misplaced priorities have resulted in wholesale levels of gruesome and brutal death, suffering, and mental anguish.

The results were:

1. Yes. Those guilty of the immorality of putting Bush's political fortunes ahead of the suffering and deaths of thousands both here and abroad deserve the hottest place in Hell.
27 votes or 96.4 %

2. No, George Bush and his political operatives are doing a stellar job. Not one death or any suffering is the fault of either him or his policies. Bush is my hero. I haven't died yet.
1 vote or 3.6%

When the question "Will the response to Hurricane Katrina help or hurt Bush?" was asked of the illustrious readers, most felt it would be politically damaging for Bush, and they appear to be correct so far. But a fair amount of readers felt that while Bush would take a hit in the near-term, he and his spinmeisters would turn it around. And a handful of delusional Bush-bots felt it would actually help him politically.

1. Hurt, and hurt big-time. The American public will not tolerate fellow Americans being left to suffer and die while rescue efforts are stuck on stupid.
31 votes or 68.9%

2. It might damage him in the short term, but he'll manage to turn it around.
11 or 24.4%

3. It will help Bush. He'll be able to be seen as the strong leader again, and will position himself as a great, caring, rescuer-in-chief. It will also deflect attention away from the bad news in Iraq.
3 votes or 6.7%

Jesus Christ, man, when are you getting back to Q-C stuff? I can read all of this at Kos.

Thanks for the vehement suggestion.

My answer would be that I'll cover anything local just as soon as anything happens.

My e-mail address is clearly marked in red in the sidebar to the right. Just click on it and it will set up a pre-addressed blank e-mail for you to type and send.

It couldn't be simpler.

Send me anything and everything to do with local politics and if it's worthwhile, I'll be sure to post it.

I can't simply make stuff up when there's nothing going on that I'm aware of.

If there's anything going on locallly, I would greatly appreciate it if readers would bring it to my attention.
