The Q.C.s, the whole Q.C.s, and nothing but the Q.C.s

In response to the suggestion of a poster down thread that I focus exclusively on the Quads, the following is a recap of poltical goings on this weekend in the Quad Cities:

--insert sound of crickets here--

To my knowledge, nothing newsworthy happened. Oh wait.. Thodos had a townhall/pancake breakfast event. Or maybe that still hasn't happened.

If anyone has any QC news I've missed, feel free to lay it on me. This effort depends largely on your input. It's painless... just click the contact button to the right.

We now return to our regularly scheduled program.

It's all about the mayor's races Tuesday night ... Moline, East Moline & Silvis will be drawing the most interest on the IL side of the river. I'm going to go out on a limb ...

Lohse wins in Silvis.
Moreno wins in East Moline.
O'Brien & Adams win in Moline.

Alright Blue State!
We'll see how good a prognosticator you are by tomorrow night!
The Dope thinks you are likely spot on.

Thodos and Boland stooped below LOW at the pancake breakfast with a very old picture of Jose Moreno. Neither one of them will ever get my vote again. Filth does not sell.

Some alert Dopesters hopefully will contribute more on this disgusting tactic. Some more tidbits in thread above.

Here's the dope!

The "dity photo" was not circulated by John Thodos or Mike Boland. The photo was distributed by a disgruntled former East Moline police officer, who was passed over for appointment as chief, and the owner of a local trucking firm.

In fact, the trucking firm owner approached counsel regarding the legality of displaying a large banner with a copy of the "dirty photo" visible from his downtown building.

Although Thodos and Boland knew all about the photo that was eventually mailed to Morenoe's wife, children, and mother-in-law, neither politican was dumb enough to leave their prints on the envelope. No they left that task to allies of lower intelect.

Before the East Moline Mayor's Forum began, Thodos pulled Moreno aside and threatened to circulate the photo, if Moreno brought up Thodos' DUIs, and subsequent hit and run charges.

While I do not know the exact number of photos that were mailed I saw 5 copies of the photo. Each hand addressed photo bore the exact handwritting and stamp.

While I do not chide Thodos and Boland for wanting to win, I do fault both men for stepping over the bounds of human decency.

I pray that no one ever treats your family in such a terrible manner. Imagine how would you feel if someone sent such a photo to your wife, child and/or mother-in-law?

You should be ashamed of yourself for acting in such a borish manner.

You are so wise, in your own way, bygump. ;-) Maybe you might comment in the thread dealing with these revelations near the top.

FYI The Police officer that you are referring to that has been accussed of spreading the picture never was passed over for the chief position. He had retired before that... however, he did lose to Moreno in the last Mayoral race with the 10 others.... Either way.... HATE was strong in all that participated..... Oh well....not my problem...
