Let's hope that era of spinelessness is over.
What flaming far-left radical said this?
If by "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by "Liberal", then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal".
Well, lessee...it isn't William F. Buckley, Jr...
ReplyDeleteJFK,
ReplyDeleteSeptember 1960. He repeated it on the campaign trail into early October, then abandoned it in his closing kick. I was there for one iteration with a bunch of "Boooooodjwazie" Choate Boys. They hated it. I loved it.
It was pretty much all downhill since then until January, 1993.
TYF the walk down memory lane.
Of course, you're correct UMR.
ReplyDeleteAnd what the hell were you doing with Choate boys?
Keith Olbermann mentioned Choate the other night and said that Choate was the snooty prep school that kids that went to other snooty prep schools thought was REALLY snooty.
