It is indeed Waveland Avenue, literally in the shadow of Wrigley Field. You can make out the spire of the building with the red Budweiser roof in the distance as well as the railings for the rooftop bleachers that many have installed.

Thanks to Superstation WGN being one of the first stations broadcast by satellite around the globe, Waveland Avenue is probably known from the wilds of Borneo to the yurts of Mongolia.
(in my best Ed McMahon voice) You are correct sir! (or close enough)
It is indeed the fabled Hennepin Canal. As it's unlikely that anyone can name where it was taken, it's shot from a bridge on the road from Dayton Corners to Green River in Henry County, two towns which essentially no longer exist.
The road traverses a mile of a lonely wetland island between the canal and the Green River and is quite spooky at night.
If you turn right on county road 227/585 from county road 224 (Cleveland Rd), you'll cross this bridge just before you get to a tee intersection in Green River. This is the view looking west.
I think this might technically be the Green River, but since the two diverge and then nearly join again in this area, it's hard to be too picky. Well done Rawk.
Don't be stupid. Really, don't be stupid. Stop. Reread your comment. Does it make sense? Are you making something up out of thin air in order to attack me with it? Reading something into a post that's clearly not there or even implied? Then don't bother posting. For that matter, if that's the case, don't bother coming back.
The first one is Waveland Avenue, over the (newly extended) left field bleachers of Wrigley Field.
ReplyDeleteThe second one I dunno.
