Boland touts Hwy 30 improvement funding
This just in at Inside Dope communications central.
Rep. Mike Boland is planning a media event to be held Monday, March 6 to announce $7.75 Million in state funds earmarked for widening Highway 30 between Rock Falls and the Iowa border to a 4-lane highway.
The $7.75 million will serve as the local matching dollars to leverage an even larger sum from the Federal Government for this project, according to Boland's press release. The Illinois Department of Transportation has made a commitment for $1.5 million in funding, earmarked for Fiscal Year 2007, and a total of $6.25 million in Fiscal Years 2008 thru 2012.
The event will be held from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. at the Fulton Lanes Bowling Alley banquet room, 1601 9th Avenue, Fulton.
The public and media are invited to attend both the announcement and banquet.

Great job Sen.Mike Jacobs and Rep. Mike Boland. I will look forward to seeing you both there. Great news for the QC area. All that drive this road know that itis a needed improvement.
I saw Sen. Mike Jacobs earlier today on the channel 6 news talking about the project. Looks like Boland is a little late!
Now the Jacobs trolls are trying to claim credit for something Boland did? Amazing, but not surprising. The senator seems to rush to claim credit for anything that happens in his district, whether he had anything to do with it or not.
What does this say about him? It's sure not too flattering that he tries to elbow out people and try to get credit he doesn't deserve.
Mr. Humble. That's Jacobs.
Rep. Boland has worked on this for some time. Hats off.
Please tell us anything that Boland has ever accomplished? Lane Evans, Dick Durbin, Mike Jacobs are waiting to hear what Boland actually did to gain these funds. Please disgusted, tell us anything Mike Boland has ever done to help anyone other than himself?
Signed,
Waiting to hear your reply.
He got the funding for this major highway improvement for one.
And how is it somehow my responsibility to list and defend everything Boland has ever done simply because I note that Jacobs is so quick to jump in and elbow his way in front of a camera to claim credit for anything anyone else does in his district?
You've obviously got your opinion already chiseled in stone and I doubt anything anyone told you would make any difference.
It's thugish supporters of Jacobs and their ignorant and blind opinions and willingness to stoop to any level, no matter how low, in order to smear or attack his "enemies" lie about Jacobs' so-called "achievements" that makes things so ugly and drag things into the mud around here.
"He got funding for this major highway improvenemt for one."

Are you kidding me?
Please explain how Mike Boland "got funding for this highway improvement?"
I can't wait to hear this tortured logic!
Who are you demanding this explanation from?
Not from you. you have no clue.
I am getting hungry!
Disgusted claimed "Boland got this funding for the major highway improvement," not me. Feel free to explain how Boland put this money into IDOT;s road program. I am waiting!
By the way, feel free to tell us where Boland stand on the pig plant? Is your guy (Boland) for the pig plant or against it?
Do tell.
Listen, I don't know why you hate Boland or are obsessed with knocking him, but I suggest you take it up with Boland himself.
The way I read the post is that Boland has gotten funding for widening Hwy 30.
I don't know what you're so freaked out about.
I'm not here to defend or argue for Boland. If you want to do that, look somewhere else.
Judging by how you absolutely can't stand to see Boland get any credit for anything, you must be Jacobs, going on with the ridiculous feud right?
Take it up with Boland. I'm not his spokesperson.
Boland and Jacobs have burried the hatchet. Haven't you heard. Sen. Mike Jacobs has carried every one of Bolands bills. He has also worked with him on the Tompson prison and the pork plant. Boland even was on the Jacobs campaign piece.
