The Great Debate(s)

If a series of Rumler-Jacobs debates could be pulled off, they'd surely supplant the Lincoln/Douglas debates in Illinois and U.S. history. Textbooks would need to be re-written, and the formerly legendary debates would fade into obscurity.

In the comments to a thread discussing the potential for such debates between primary candidates, I raised the idea of doing a live, online debate. That discussion suggested another question regarding the debates which I'd like to put to readers.

What group or organization do you feel would be the best suited to sponsor and run a debate or debates?

And secondly, who would be the best moderator or moderators?

Looks like you are too late DOPE.

Sen. Jacobs and his opponent taped a debate at WQAD. The debate will air several during an upcoming "Good Morning America" time slot.

My source says "Sen. Jacobs did well" and his opponent seemed "kinda nerveous" and "totally unsure of himself."

I'll keep you posted as to the exact dates and time of the "great debate."

I wonder if Blagojevich is going to debate his opponent? Or how about Huff and Grchan? How about that "hot race" for county board?

Who cares about the State Senate primary. The real contest is for RI County Sheriff, based on the yard signs and the interest. That's who should be debating.

Come on, Mr. Dope, do a poll in that race and let's also get a debate going.

WQADfriend,
A short Q&A with both candidates does not constitute a debate. Sorry.

And Anon 12:17,

PLEASE at least read and look over the blog before you post.

You commented after noon when the poll you've been yammmering for had been up for about 10 hours already.
