Sen. Chuck "Grumpy Grandpa" Grassley distancing himself from his own party

Under the "rats fleeing a sinking ship" file, we have,
DES MOINES — U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, says his party is not governing effectively, which he fears will lead to losses at the ballot box next year.

"A lot of people want to say Republicans are having problems because of stands we take on specific issues. I’ve seen polls where that’s not the reason. The reason is we’re not governing," he said in a conference call with reporters.
Yeah, that's kind of a problem. When you're in charge of all three branches of government and you're not governing, that's... not so good.

Despite a majority in the House and Senate, Republicans have not been able to pass a package of tax cuts and spending reductions.

Grassley said he doubts that the problems are bad enough for Republicans to lose control of the Senate next year, but he didn’t comment about the possibility of losing control of the House.
Looks like Chuck knows which way the wind's blowing.

Yeah, and Chuck mows his own lawn with three lawn mowers simultaniously...... Remember those silly ads? I do.. gag me.

I am guessing that's not enough for him to get his votes the next time! That must be why he's making his stand now.
