A couple days ago, a commenter asked out of the blue, "Who is the hottest local newsbabe?"
Not feeling qualified to venture an opinion (I couldn't even name more than one or two anyway), I thought maybe I'd put the admittedly somewhat sexist question to you, the loving public.
I thought maybe I'd put up a poll, but in trying to find the names of these fine professional women, I discovered that between the four local stations, there are TWENTY-THREE females working as anchors or reporters. (WHBF could field a baseball team with theirs.) So much for that idea.
So pick your three favorites from all the contestants and list them in comments (order is not important).
Once the field is narrowed to the three top vote getters, we can vote on your favorite from that group for the soon to be coveted Inside Dope Quad City Female News Personality of the Year Award. A traveling trophy will likely asume a prominent spot on the mantle of the grateful winner.

What make a woman attractive is the same as what makes a man attractive: their mind and personality. My vote - Christiane Amanpour.
But then I am past my prime and know what's really important. If I were younger....? ;)
Here's my vote:
#1 - WHBF's Meredith Wood. You've got to love a brown-eyed Southern Belle. Mmmm...grits.
#2 - WQAD's Barbara Dawson. What's not to love. She's beautiful and doesn't annoy the crap out of you on air like most others do in the QC.
#3 - WHBF's Nicol Lally. There's got to be something in those Boston Baked Beans. Also, another smart cookie on air and also easy on the eyes.
rawk, only 10? Yikes! haha.
And KV, national is a whole 'nuther ballgame. We might go there next.

1. Paula Sands is in the top class all by herself. She could easily be your friend.
2. Kelly Hessedal. I've seen her in action at political events and she is a real professional.
3. Third is good but in my heart I can't vote for someone who is surrounded by stinky smoke.

Apparently you're not too familiar with blogging. Posts are current when they're posted. As there are over 2000 posts and growing daily, it's neither possible nor expected that a blogger go back and update every single post, much less one which was posted exactly 500 days ago.
No one sees this nearly two year old post unless they come across this post by doing a search.
I'm sure some of these women have left and others have come and gone since it was posted. This one's not going to be updated.

With regard to personality, she's entirely too "plastic " to comfortably engage in any kind of interpersonal interaction with. This said, she is, without any doubt in my mind, one of THE MOST physically beautiful women I have ever seen.
Paula Sands can be NO ONE'S friend; she is a bitch from hell and positively incorrigible at that.
There are other fabulously pretty women on QC TV news, but none of their looks compare to Vanessa Van Hyfte's.

One of the sweetest women I have ever met.. She cares about the little things in life, her smile lights up a room, she works out and takes care of herself, and for anyone that has seen her in the gym... My lord.. Physically she is one of the most incredible women you will ever see, and more so, smart and educated on how to stay fit. I have been all over the country, and seen anchors of every walk of life, and this woman is a diamond in the rough in every sense of the word, and rough being the Quad Cities where most women look the part, but when engaging yourself in a conversation, the rough part comes out.. Vanessa is a breath of fresh air..
