Quad City Development Group returns from D.C.

The Quad City Development Group recently returned from a lobbying junket to D.C. and optimism is hard to detect. They focused on protecting the R.I. Arsenal from being affected by the upcoming rounds of base "realignments". The General in charge of the Army Materiel Command, which is the arsenal's superior command, pretty much stiffed the group when they met and would provide no hint at what he felt the arenal's chances may be. A recent article in the New York Times which featured a military analyst who listed the Rock Island facility as being ripe for "realignment" also put a damper on optimism.
