Further "Picture-gate" revelations

An alert Dopester came through big time by providing the low-down about this low down story.

The most detailed account so far was posted in a comment to a post far down the page.

And by the account of the attempted blackmail deal, it sures sounds like Thodos' account of refusing to use the pictures is bunk.

It appears that East Moline has some solid citizens it can be proud of. (cough)

I am not sure if others beleive as I that you are judged by the company you keep. Thodos now, directly or indirectly, is connected to 1.) a ethically challenged retired EM cop, and former Mayoral candidate 2.) The most negative, and unproductive State Rep in Illinois 3.)A disgruntled private business owner, and fomer Mayoral candidate himself, and 4.) An obstructionist female Alderperson

When is John G gong to put his foot down? When is the Democratic establishment in S'Field going to realize how destructive M. Boland has always been? When.... Democrats, be prepared to wither on the vine and die with the likes of this group, and other convenient Democrats further gaining access to elected posts.

There are many aspects of this tale that gets my blood boiling.
One is just how LAME trying to use such a relatively inoccuous picture is to begin with. This picture was taken decades ago at a bachelor party? I mean, they really thought THAT would just freak people out? Hell, half of the town probably has done that and worse.
And I must not understand elective politics too well, but it sure as hell seems to me that a hit and run DUI only months before sure the hell trumps evidence that a guy attended a bachelor party at a strip joint over two decades ago.
Which one reflects more on the candidate's character? It's a no brainer. Yet this didn't occur to these clods. Too bad there wasn't a dashboard cam tape from the cop that busted Thodos. Maybe seeing him being taken out of his wrecked car in a state of severe intoxication would have been poetic justice. And that wasn't more than 20 years ago.

I hope the dispatch or the times picks up on this and exposes Thodos, Boland, Ellis and DeJaynes for the scum they are stooping this low...

It's not hard to pick up on the anomosity here towards Boland. But in fairness, is their any honest way you can tar him with this brush? I don't see any account putting him in the picture picture, so to speak. Just asking.

Boland's culpability, and everyone elses revolves around their actions (or in this case their inaction) on the day they saw the picture at the Thodos fundraiser. The whole group acted like a bunch of giddy school girls at 3pm on a Friday when they saw the picture, and subsequently passed it around. I will never vote for anyone those men support ever again...

To blame one guy or another is cheap-shot politics. There are so many factions in East Moline it makes your head spin.

It really is a shame that there's such feuding in E. Moline. Unfortunately, like most feuds, they just keep festering and are passed on for generations. I don't hold much hope that we'll see politicians working together for the good of the area anytime soon.

That is, unless the players change!
