You can lead a horticulture, but...

...you can't make her think. Or so they say.

But speaking of horticulture, who can ID these flowers?.

(as usual, click to enlarge)

They have these strange tail-like things hanging out the back.

Bonus points if you can name this one. (hint: it's just the center of a large flower.)

    We have a winner!

Daytrotter, you know you stuff. The bottom shot is indeed a clematis.

I'd been told the top flower was not a columbine by a source, but after some quick research online, I'd have to say that you're correct and they're wrong.

They sure look like the shots of columbine available online.

I also found that those tail looking things are called spurs.

They're tube shaped elongations of the five white petals. They serve as reservoirs for nectar and different species of columbine each have different shapes and sizes of spurs designed to attract a specific sort of pollinator.

    Great work!

Don't be stupid. Really, don't be stupid.
Stop. Reread your comment. Does it make sense?
Are you making something up out of thin air in order to attack me with it? Reading something into a post that's clearly not there or even implied?
Then don't bother posting. For that matter, if that's the case, don't bother coming back.
