Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald met with the grand jury investigating the leak of covert CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson for several hours Friday. Short of a last minute intervention by Rove's attorney, Fitzgerald is expected to ask a grand jury-possibly as soon as next week-- to indict Rove for making false statements to the FBI and Justice Department investigators in October 2003, lawyers close to the case say.
Moreover, Fitzgerald is said to believe that there is a possibility Rove either hid or destroyed evidence related to his role in the leak, lawyers close to the case said.

Don't be stupid. Really, don't be stupid.
Stop. Reread your comment. Does it make sense?
Are you making something up out of thin air in order to attack me with it? Reading something into a post that's clearly not there or even implied?
Then don't bother posting. For that matter, if that's the case, don't bother coming back.
Karl Rove to be indicted!? We can only hope.
ReplyDeleteI just saw a poll that 51% of Americans believe that the investigation into the Valerie Plame Wilson leak to be a "serious matter" as opposed to "just politics". That is 2% higher than the number of Americans who though Watergate was a "serious matter" 2 months before Nixon resigned.
In spite of the fact that the news media feels it has a vested interest in this leak not being a crime (they seem to prefer to have their stories handed to them on a silver platter by leaking government officials rather than to have to go out and actually investigate) and try to bury and downplay this story the public is not buying it. The public recognizes treason when they see it even if all the talking heads on tv agree that this was no crime.
Or they decide to "sell" what they want published in Iraq to keep the spin positive.....
ReplyDeleteI stumbled across this article a few days ago when I was trying to explain the Jack Ryan thing to a friend. This was the interesting part:
ReplyDeleteSome Republicans were also hoping to interest Patrick Fitzgerald (no relation to the outgoing senator), an Illinois-based U.S. attorney. He is leading a probe in Washington into the leak of Valerie Plame's identity as a CIA officer.
Bet he doesn't get any more offers like that from the GOP. :)
